Silicon Carbide Powder -180 Mesh 99%+ Purity Lab Grade

Silicon carbide powder is supplied at −180 mesh, 99%+ purity, lab grade. It is one of the hardest common abrasives and holds its strength and thermal conductivity at high temperature, which is why it turns up in grinding, lapping and polishing work, in blasting and in the manufacture of cutting tools.

The same material is used in refractories and kiln furniture, in technical ceramics, and as a research feedstock in electronics and materials science. The −180 grade is a coarse cutting size rather than a finishing grit.
