Methylene chloride (dichloromethane, CH₂Cl₂) is a colorless, volatile liquid with a mild chloroform-like odor and a boiling point of 39.8 °C. This is reagent grade at ≥99.9 percent assay with low water content, stabilized with 40–150 ppm amylene to limit degradation in storage.
It is a general-purpose extraction and reaction solvent, dissolving a broad range of polar and non-polar organic compounds and forming the dense lower layer in liquid-liquid separations. Typical work includes alkaloid partitioning, pharmaceutical processing, and HPLC, GC and spectroscopy sample preparation where fast evaporation keeps thermal stress on sensitive compounds low.

My bottle of DCM was half empty and had melted the foam peanuts to the mailer sheet that is send with each order. I have written an email to Invictus Supply, including pictures but have not seen a response. I still commend the company for a great selection of products at a decent price point. They are much better in price and selection than a lot of these other competitors in this market. Quality is great as far as the purity of the product goes, and its utilization for my uses. This is a 5 star company in quality and pricing. So my experience as of now is a 4 star due to the shipping materials used and the missing product that had leaked into the package. I have since already placed another order and will continue to employ this company to provide my chemicals if they are able to get my products to me undamaged and in their entirety. Thanks for the services you offer. I will review the next package as well.
