Cobalt Carbonate CoCO₃ High Purity Lab Grade

Cobalt carbonate (CoCO₃) is a light pink powder supplied at laboratory grade with a minimum 46 percent cobalt content and low levels of iron, nickel and copper. The fine, homogeneous particle size disperses evenly in glaze slurries rather than leaving the dark specks that coarser cobalt oxide can produce.

It is the standard cobalt source for ceramic color, giving blues from pale sky tones through deep royal across the earthenware to porcelain range, and it holds up in both oxidation and reduction firing. Common uses include blue-and-white porcelain decoration, crystalline glazes, majolica and in-glaze painting, and tinting of slips and engobes.
