Nitrocellulose Cotton >99% Purity 12.0-12.6% Nitrogen

Nitrocellulose cotton at greater than 99% purity with a nitrogen content of 12.0 to 12.6 percent, supplied as loose fiber in an 8 oz package. The fiber form dissolves readily in common ester and ketone solvents to give clear, fast-drying lacquer solutions.

It is used as a film former in nitrocellulose lacquers and printing inks, as a binder in coatings, and in film and membrane production. In pyrotechnics it serves as a lacquer base and binder. Nitrogen content in this range governs solubility and burning behavior, which is why the specification is stated.
