Bismuth Trioxide Powder, Bismuth (III) Oxide, Bi2O3

Bismuth trioxide, also called bismuth (III) oxide, is a pale yellow lab-grade powder at 99.9% purity supplied in a 250 g quantity. Its formula is Bi2O3, and it is valued as a heavy metal oxide that is not subject to the toxicity restrictions applied to lead compounds.

It is used as a dielectric in electronic ceramics such as capacitors and varistors, as a flux in glass and a gloss and flow modifier in ceramic glazes, as a catalyst in chemical processes, and as the lead-free oxidizer in dragon egg pyrotechnic effects.
