1lb Iron Oxide (Red)

Red iron oxide is an inorganic pigment supplied as one pound of dry powder. It gives a strong, opaque earth red with high tinting strength, and it is non-toxic, resistant to ultraviolet light and weather stable, so it holds its color in exterior work.

It is used for coloring concrete, mortar, stucco and paving, as a pigment in artist and industrial paints, primers and stains, and as a colorant and iron source in ceramic glazes, slips and engobes. It blends readily with other pigments to extend a palette of browns, oranges and terracottas.
