1lb Hawthorn Bond Clay

Hawthorn Bond Clay is a popular, plastic Missouri fireclay widely used in pottery and ceramic applications. Known for its fine particle size and excellent workability, it is commonly used in commercial clay body recipes and can be used directly on the potter's wheel. It fires to a buff-to-tan color with approximately 10–12% total shrinkage at cone 10, and is valued for its stability across a wide firing range (cone 8–10). It is ground to 35–40 mesh, with finer 50 mesh versions offering even greater plasticity.
