Dioctyl adipate (DOA), with the chemical formula C22H42O4, is an organic compound and a diester derived from adipic acid and octanol (commonly 2-ethylhexanol). It is primarily known as a plasticizer, used to enhance the flexibility, durability, and processability of polymers, especially polyvinyl chloride (PVC). DOA appears as a clear, colorless to slightly yellowish oily liquid with a mild or slight odor.
