1lb Copper (II) Oxide (Black)

Copper (II) oxide, or black copper oxide, is a black powder supplied at reagent grade in one-pound quantities. It is insoluble in water and thermally stable, which makes it a straightforward copper addition for high-temperature work.

In ceramics and glass it is used as a colorant for greens, turquoise and copper reds in glazes, enamels and specialty glasses. Other uses include catalysis in organic synthesis, oxidation of samples in combustion elemental analysis, copper micronutrient addition in fertilizer and feed blends, and electronics, semiconductor and battery research.
