1lb Copper (I) Oxide (Red)

Copper (I) oxide, also called cuprous oxide or red copper oxide, is a red crystalline powder supplied at reagent grade in one-pound quantities. It is stable at high temperature and behaves as a p-type semiconductor.

Ceramicists and glass workers use it as a colorant and reducing agent, where it holds its red through firing without fading. It is also the active copper compound in antifouling marine paints, is formulated into agricultural fungicides and copper micronutrient products, and is used as a catalyst, as a semiconductor and photovoltaic research material, and as a starting point for other copper compounds.
