Fluorescein Solution - Fluorescent Dye

Fluorescein is a xanthene fluorescent dye supplied here as a lab grade solution in a 10 ml glass vial. It absorbs blue light and emits a bright yellow-green fluorescence that remains visible at very high dilution, which is the property most of its uses depend on.

It is used as a fluorescent label and counterstain in microscopy and cell biology, as a tracer for water movement in hydrology and for leak detection in plumbing and cooling systems, and as a marker dye in diagnostic and teaching work. It is also used to tint pigments, inks and novelty paints.
