500ml Diethyl Ether

Diethyl ether (C4H10O) is a colorless, highly volatile liquid with a characteristic odor, supplied at laboratory grade in 500 ml bottles at 99 percent or better purity. Its low boiling point allows removal under mild conditions, and it is extremely flammable.

It is a standard extraction solvent in organic chemistry, dissolving nonpolar and moderately polar compounds and separating cleanly in liquid-liquid workup. Other routine uses include recrystallization, Grignard and other anhydrous reaction chemistry, pharmaceutical and natural product extraction, and dissolving waxes, oils, fats, resins and perfume materials.
