Chloroform 99.8%

Chloroform at 99.8% purity is a clear, colorless, dense liquid with a sweet odor, supplied as laboratory grade in a 100 ml bottle. It is volatile and should be used in a fume hood with appropriate gloves, since vapor is readily absorbed.

It is a general-purpose organic solvent used for extractions, particularly liquid-liquid separations and lipid work, and as a solvent for fats, oils, resins, and rubber. It is also used as a reaction solvent in synthesis, in sample preparation, and as a laboratory reference standard. Store it tightly closed, cool, and out of light, as chloroform degrades on prolonged exposure to air and sunlight.
