Lead Chromate High Purity "School Bus Yellow" Pigment & Lab Reagent

Lead chromate is a high purity yellow inorganic pigment and laboratory reagent, supplied in 100 gram quantities. It is the bright, opaque yellow long known as chrome yellow or school bus yellow, insoluble in water and stable to light and heat.

It has been used as a pigment in paints, coatings, inks, plastics and traffic markings, in glass and ceramic colorants, and in rust-inhibiting primers for steel. In the laboratory it serves as a reagent in chromate and lead chemistry and in classical qualitative analysis. Lead chromate is toxic and a recognized carcinogen, and the dry powder should be handled accordingly.
