Vinsol Resin Powder

Vinsol resin is a dark, brittle natural resin extracted from pine stumps and refined, supplied as a powder at 99% purity, industrial grade. It dissolves in alcohols, ketones and some hydrocarbon solvents, and can also be incorporated dry.

In pyrotechnics it works as both an organic fuel and a binder, valued for the tough, crack-resistant grains and stars it produces in potassium perchlorate systems and in black powder rocket consolidation. Industrially the same resin is used in adhesives, coatings, and as an air-entraining admixture for concrete.
