Potassium Carbonate Powder (Potash, Pearl Ash, Salt of Tartar)

Potassium carbonate (K2CO3), also known as potash, pearl ash, or salt of tartar, is a fine white hygroscopic powder supplied at food grade, typically 99 percent purity. In ceramics and glass it supplies K2O as a flux without the alumina and silica that come with feldspars, which makes it useful for adjusting expansion and for building glossy alkaline glazes with strong color response from copper and cobalt.

It is also used as a food additive in noodle and cocoa processing, as a laboratory drying agent, in soap making, and as a potassium source in fertilizer blends.
