Magnesium Metal Powder 30-50 or 325 Mesh 99%+ Purity (100g-1LB)

Magnesium metal powder is supplied at 99%+ purity in a choice of 30-50 mesh granules or 325 mesh fine powder, in quantities from 100 grams to one pound. The coarse grade behaves as a granular metal fuel; the 325 mesh grade has far greater surface area and correspondingly faster reaction.

It is used as a metal fuel in pyrotechnic and thermite type compositions, as an alloying and desulfurizing addition in metallurgy, as a reducing agent in Grignard and other organic synthesis, and in sacrificial anodes. Magnesium powder is readily ignitable and reacts with water and acids.
