Paris Green Copper Acetoarsenite Emerald Green Pigment

Paris green, or copper acetoarsenite, is a bright emerald-green pigment with a long history in artists' paints, printing inks and architectural finishes. The color is intense and lightfast, and the material remains of interest for historical pigment reference, conservation analysis and period-accurate restoration work.

It was also used historically as an insecticide and rodenticide in agriculture, and as a colorant in pyrotechnics. The pigment contains both arsenic and copper and is toxic by ingestion and inhalation, so it is supplied as a reference and laboratory material and should be handled with gloves, dust control and careful cleanup.
