Methanol (Methyl Alcohol)

Methanol, or methyl alcohol, is a reagent-grade solvent supplied here in bulk liquid volume. It is clear, fast-evaporating and miscible with water, which makes it a general-purpose solvent for resins, dyes, adhesives and parts cleaning.

Larger quantities are usually taken for biodiesel transesterification, windshield washer and antifreeze blending, fuel and fuel-additive work, and as a feedstock in chemical manufacture. It is also used for rinsing and drying glassware. The liquid is flammable and toxic, its vapor should not be inhaled, and containers are kept closed and grounded during transfer.
