Titanium Sponge -10+20 Mesh 99+% Purity

Titanium sponge is the porous metallic titanium produced by the Kroll process, screened here to -10+20 mesh at 99+% purity. The irregular granules have a high surface area and melt readily, which is why sponge rather than solid metal is the normal feedstock for alloying.

It is used as raw material for titanium ingot and alloy production for aerospace, marine and medical parts, as an alloying addition in specialty steels, and as a getter in vacuum systems. In pyrotechnics, granular titanium is used to produce silver-white branching sparks.
