Sodium Sulfite Na₂SO₃ 99% Purity Anhydrous Lab Grade

Sodium sulfite (Na₂SO₃) is supplied here as an anhydrous lab grade powder at 99% purity. Its usefulness comes from acting as a reducing agent and oxygen scavenger: it preserves developer solutions in darkroom photography, strips dissolved oxygen and residual chlorine in water treatment, and holds back oxidation in solutions that would otherwise degrade on standing.

The anhydrous form carries no water into a batch and stores more predictably than the heptahydrate. It is also used in textile and leather processing as a bleaching and cleaning agent, and as a general purpose reducing reagent on the bench.
